Nianli Mind Power Healing
Formerly World Institute for Self Healing (WISH) Canada
Background Information:
The ownership and focus of World Institute for Self Healing (WISH) US has undergone a recent, major change. Whereas WISH US began as a collaboration to between three persons: Master Binhui He (newly arrived visiting qigong teacher and researcher from China), Kevin Chen (university professor in USA) and Lily Zhong (film director in USA), WISH no longer includes or is connect to Master He.
The first office and centre of WISH US Inc. began in New Jersey, USA. That first WISH agency was a productive three-way collaboration between He, Chen and Zhong to share the powerful qigong created by Master He. Together, with the help of others, they worked enormously in translating, organizing, publicizing and teaching Master He’s knowledge of qigong. Kevin and Lily created many, many classes each year, with autumn practice retreats in Pennsylvania and China. Taiji Five-Element Self Recovery System was the name chosen for this powerful qigong, which had already acquired a reputation as being particularly effective against cancers. TFSRS was the focus of some scientific research papers between Master He, Kevin Chen and others. WISH Canada was a subsidiary in Ottawa, teaching the same practice under the capable direction of Kathy Chan from 2000-2006, when it inexplicably closed. Thank you Kevin, Lily and Kathy for your many years of teaching qigong to westerners, doubting, incredulous, yet open to this absorbing this ancient knowledge.

In August 2010, WISH US offices closed “temporarily” with no explanation. By 2009, one persevering member of the former WISH Canada, created this new web site and recommenced TFSRS teachings in Ottawa, in the absence of communication with the former WISH US office.
Qigong is receiving increasing attention as more people search for alternative health modes. In recent years proliferation of new styles of Qigong have appeared which do not have true characteristics of Qigong, says Master Binhui He. This has led to confusion on what is Qigong and which ones are real Qigong and which are not. Master He decided to remove the word Qigong from his self healing system to stay away from the confusion. More importantly, mind power healing is the most important component of his healing philosophy culminating from many years of clinical experience. To delineate these changes:
- Taiji Five Element Medical Qigong is the name used by Master He when he first came to North America, which was later changed to a more accurate title:
- Taiji Five Element Self Recovery System. This new name emphasized the mental/intentional/attitudinal aspect that is essential for lasting self healing of the body. It is described in the paper “Evolution of Mind Power Medical Science,” published in 2006. At the same time, Master He ceased using the name WISH and requested us in North America to now use the name: Nianli Mind Power Healing.
- While Nianli is an evolution from its earlier names, the basic form and content of the practice is essentially the same as before.
Nianli signifies Master He’s strong emphasis that we use our conscious intention to change our attitudes to restore the inner body environment to what is necessary for health. Master He is not the only modern healer to emphasize consciousness power and self-responsibility for healing. But he offers us a unique way to do so. This is of huge importance when burgeoning demands on our traditional western state-funded health care system cannot be met. With increasing expectations of senior citizens, ever more expensive tests, drugs and treatments, and proof of iatrogenic disease, something better and more economical in health care is desperately needed.
Nianli can be one such solution: risk free, drug free, effective, extremely low cost, simple and not hard to learn, and proven over many, many centuries.
