The Evolution of Mind Power Medical Science
Master Binhui He Houston, TX August 23, 2006
Since my lecture on Mind Power Medical Science (MPMS) was broadcast on Phoenix Television’s Century Lecture Theater Program (in China), numerous questions have been raised. These include whether MPMS is rejecting past Qigong therapy and whether MPMS is simply Qigong repackaged, which is no different from other conventional Qigong therapy. With these misunderstandings, it is necessary for me to clarify the similarity and differences between MPMS and medical Qigong.
There is no doubt that MPMS is closely related to my decades of Taoist Qigong practice & research in Qigong rehabilitation of the past 20 years. In 1988 I invented and developed Chinese Taiji Five Element Qigong (CTFEQ) for curing chronic illnesses and in 1993 shifted its focus to curing cancer. Since then, thousands of cancer patients have adopted CTFEQ as a basic rehabilitation tool. Numerous such patients already given up by hospitals have achieved genuine recovery without other forms of treatment. It is evident that CTFEQ has met the challenge of medical effectiveness in these years.
Throughout the above period of curing cancer and various chronic illnesses, we gradually realized that just relying on practicing a particular type of Qigong is far from sufficient.
To achieve genuine recovery from illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other unusual illnesses, the patient’s own mindset and views on health, sicknesses, medication all need to be changed. It is particularly important for them to have proper perspectives on life and living; without the former, the latter cannot be achieved properly.
Moreover, they need to understand the root of their illnesses before genuine recovery can be achieved. Many of them get sick repeatedly, fail to recover completely with symptoms reemerging from time to time primarily because their own behavior and life style have violated the rule of life.
Many of these patients have experienced emotional disturbances such as sadness, suppression and distortion of mind. Prolonged working overtime, insufficient sleep and rest, excessive dining, pressure from work, endless pursuit of fame and wealth etc, typically feature in their life style. Psychological distortions usually result when these desires cannot be satisfied and eventually lead to health deterioration and sickness. Apart from the above, we also observe that these patients’ perspectives on illnesses and health are usually unhelpful and traditional, which makes them become emotionally depressed when getting sick.
If these problems are not resolved, it is pointless to discuss genuine recovery. Qigong practice by the patients or Qi treatment by Qigong masters is far from sufficient despite illness being alleviated partially through Qigong self-practice or Qi treatment by Qigong masters. [sic] Without eliminating the ‘root causes’ of illnesses, genuine recovery is out of the question.
Therefore since 1995, we have formally elevated Chinese Taiji Five Element Qigong (CTFEQ) to Taiji Five Element Self Recovery Program (TFESRP) based on analysis of various clinical phenomena. TFESRP is composed of four core elements; first, adjustment of patients’ mindset; second, intensive Qigong self practice; third, regular short and prolonged periods of fasting; and fourth, addressing the character and behavior of the patient that caused the illness. These four elements combined can accelerate self-healing ability and immunity; and also improve internal physical health environment so that patients with cancer or other chronic and serious illnesses are able to achieve recovery.
In March 2000, I migrated to the United States and established the World Institute for Self Healing (WISH). Since then WISH formally started the promotion of Taiji Five Element Self Recovery Program and research on human mind power plus self-healing ability in North America.
During this period in the US, I have collaborated with US scientists on various researches. With the completion of basic and clinical experiments on using mind power to hypnotize little white mice, to change the wave length and direction of laser beams, to alter the structure of protein molecules, to prohibit and to promote the growth of AIDS virus, to inhibit breast cancer genes and remove breast tumors and cancer, to reconnect broken bones etc., we have achieved a greater and clearer understanding of human mind power.
In particular after clinical research on the ‘placebo effect’ in various parts of the world, I firmly believe that human mind power is the core and best means in generating human self healing ability. It is also the safest and most effective medical tool for curing various illnesses. The unbelievable effect of ‘placebo effect’ is inseparable from the patient’s firm belief in having received the most effective medication that will lead to recovery. Therefore, ‘placebo effect’ is precisely a result of the patient’s own mind power.
In August 2004, I presented a paper titled “Mind Power Adjustment --- Managing Self Healing Power is the Core Route for Curing Human Illnesses” at the World Medical Qigong Summit Seminar held in Washington. I proposed this brand new concept of Mind Power Medical Science for the first time.
After almost twenty years of laborious exploration, Chinese Taiji Five Element Qigong has gradually completed the theoretical formation for curing various illnesses and has entered a third phase of development. It was transformed to Taiji Five Element Self Recovery Program and now enters the new stage of Mind Power Medical Science.
Mind Power Medical Science consists of two components: theory and practice. The theoretical part is composed of four systems as follows:
- Mind Power Medical Science’s illness view
- Mind Power Medical Science’s medical view
- Mind Power Medical Science’s health view
- Mind Power Medical Science’s rehabilitation view
These four new systems explore answers four critical, questions such as how illnesses are caused, how to deal with illness, how to achieve recovery, and why contemporary medical science has wrongly classified illnesses as enemies of human health.
The practical part is divided into two systems as follows:
- Qigong Self Practice. This enables patients to improve the internal condition of their body on a macro basis, initiate and mobilize immunity and self-healing, and revitalizing abilities to achieve recovery for various chronic, unusual and serious illnesses.
- Mind Power Self-Adjustment. This requires patients to use their own mind power to communicate with the sick and uncomfortable parts in their bodies, and to command and instruct alleviation and normalization of such parts to achieve genuine recovery.
